Amanda Bernal, LPC, is a Licensed Professional Counselor dedicated to helping individuals feel supported, understood, and empowered throughout their mental health journey. At My Buoyant Health in Phoenix, Arizona, Amanda provides compassionate therapy for adults navigating a wide range of emotional and behavioral health challenges, including anxiety, depression, addiction concerns, relationship struggles, trauma, stress, and life transitions.
Amanda has worked in the behavioral health field since 2012 and brings experience from both inpatient and outpatient settings. She earned her undergraduate degree from Arizona State University before completing her master’s degree at Grand Canyon University. Throughout her career, she has worked with individuals across the lifespan, from young children to older adults, giving her a broad understanding of the unique challenges people face at different stages of life.
Her therapeutic style is grounded in a person-centered, humanistic approach that focuses on creating a safe and supportive environment where patients feel genuinely heard and respected. Amanda believes therapy should never feel one-size-fits-all, which is why she tailors sessions to each individual’s needs and goals. She often incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and interpersonal processing techniques to help patients build healthier coping skills, improve self-awareness, and create meaningful change.
In addition to working with patients, Amanda is also a Board Certified Clinical Supervisor and has provided both individual and group supervision for clinicians over the past several years. She values helping others grow both personally and professionally.
Outside of work, Amanda enjoys spending time with family and friends, attending live music events, and caring for her five animals. She believes humor, connection, and balance are important parts of both life and healing.
